Perusahaan menghadapi tantangan menakutkan dalam mempekerjakan, memberi pelatihan, dan mempertahankan karyawan. Globalisasi telah meningkatkan permintaan akan pentingnya bakat dan talenta. Generasi kini dengan berbagai kelemahannya diproyeksikan untuk mengisi permintaan tersebut. Globalisasi dan konsekuennya dalam dunia kerja tiba-tiba menemukan sesuatu yang diinginkan dunia kerja yaitu soft skills. Lulusan perguruan tinggi yang mempunyai hard skills bagus serta menguasai kemampuan soft skill mempunyai kesempatan bekerja yang lebih tinggi, akan ebih mudah memenangkan persaingan dalam dunia kerja, lebih cepat beradaptasi dan akhirnya mencapai kesuksesan dalam karier. Perusahaan atau instansi sebagai tujuan mahasiswa untuk memasuki dunia kerja memiliki kebutuhan yang berbeda-beda.
